The Congressional Insider Benchmark

So basically everyone knows that the stock market is kind of rigged, but literally nothing proves it more than watching politicians trade. Like bro, how is it even legal that people who literally make the laws are allowed to trade stocks based on secret meetings they have? It's actually insane tbh. There's this one politician who literally outperforms the stock market every single year, and everyone on Twitter just tracks her trades because she's basically playing the game with cheat codes enabled.

I made this calculator because it's super funny but also really depressing to compare your own trading account to someone who literally has insider information. Like, you spend forty hours a week drawing little triangles on your charts and reading earnings reports, and you make like a five percent return. Meanwhile, some politician just buys a million dollars of tech stock right before they announce a massive government contract and makes fifty percent in a week. It's literally the biggest flex of all time and they don't even try to hide it anymore ngl.

So this tool lets you type in your actual portfolio returns and then it mathematically destroys your ego by comparing it to the estimated returns of top congressional traders. It basically tells you how much alpha you are losing by not being invited to classified briefings. It's a reality check that tbh we all need sometimes so we stop thinking we are trading geniuses.

The Cheat Code Math

We literally just take your percentage return and subtract the benchmark return of the best congressional traders. If the number is negative, which it probably is, that's how much you underperformed the insiders.

Your_Alpha = Your_Return_Percent - Insider_Return_Percent
Money_Left_On_Table = Portfolio_Size * (Insider_Return_Percent / 100)
