The Purchasing Power Reality Check

Ok so tbh everyone talks about making money but nobody actually talks about what that money can literally buy. Like bro, you made a thousand dollars on a trade and you feel like you are literally the wolf of wall street. But then you go to the grocery store and eggs are like ten dollars and a Big Mac costs a ridiculous amount of money now. So basically your fiat money is melting like an ice cube because of inflation and the government literally printing trillions of dollars out of thin air.

So ngl I built this calculator because measuring your wealth in dollars is basically fake news at this point. You need to measure your wealth in actual stuff. Like, how many Honda Civics is your portfolio worth? How many Rolexes? If you made ten thousand dollars this year but the price of a house went up by fifty thousand dollars, you are literally getting poorer even though your account went up. It is actually so wild to think about tbh.

This is what institutions call purchasing power. It's the actual utility of your money in the real world. By pricing your portfolio in real world assets instead of fake fiat currency, you get a massive reality check on whether you are actually building wealth or just keeping up with inflation. Spoiler alert: you probably aren't even keeping up with inflation ngl.

How the inflation math works

The math literally just divides your total realized profit by the exact cost of physical assets. It converts your useless paper money into real units of stuff you actually want.

Real_World_Value = Realized_Profit / Asset_Price
Inflation_Adjusted_Profit = Profit * (1 - Annual_Inflation_Rate)
